When I checked my email on gmail this morning, I noticed there was a VS eticket receipt in my inbox. I've never flown VS in my life, and I figured this was probably just some sort of phishing scam--after all, the receipt was for a r/t LHR-JNB ticket. I would have trashed it, except that it included what appeared to be a valid PNR, as well as a valid eticket number. So, just out of curiosity, I went to the VS website, plugged in the pax info and PNR, and sure enough, the itinerary appeared.
The email was from
[email protected], but neither my name nor my gmail account resemble the name of the pax, nor have I ever flown or even registered with VS. If I was a VS pax, this would concern me, as I don't know how many other eticket receipts were sent out to random inboxes, and the email included quite a bit of personal information (*'s represent personal info that I received in the email).
