Question for Vegetarians: meal service on PS

I've booked my vegetarian wife on SFO-JFK in C at lunch time and JFK-LAX in Y at 4:25 pm (dinner). I asked for Indian Vegetarian meals (for the record, the CSR told me that Indian Veg can have milk and eggs, but Hindu Veg is vegan).

I'm wondering if there are any other non-meat eaters who can compare the veggie options in C and Y on PS flights. There has been some grumbling on FT that veggie meals in C are usually just the same food as in Y but on different plates. Is that true for PS flights as well? Is it true for all veggie meals, or are there some special meals where they make more of an effort in C? My wife doesn't eat chicken or fish and she's not the kind of vegetarian who is willing to pick out the meat from a dish and eat everything else, so I'm unwilling to risk not putting in a meal request. So I'd like as much info as possible on the veg meals.
