Congratulations on your decision and the very best of luck with dealing with your change of life.

I grew up in the mid south and deep south and was homophobic when I was younger. I was a product of my environment, but, at a certain point in my life I overcame this and realized that my gay friends are some of the happiest, most well adjusted people I have ever known because they know who they are. Your decision required courage but certainly was the best you have ever made despite the pains you may go through in reconciling it with yourself, family, friends and others.

As for the amazement part of this response, I am amazed that:

1. There is the depth of comraderie among the members of this BBS.
2. So many people refuse to enter the 21st century and understand that sexual preference is a personal decision and not one that should be subject to criticism or bigotry by anyone.
