Hmmm, you guys can be really harsh. After all the negative comments about the concorde room and how "awful" the staff were was expecting snarls and .....-slaps on entry.
Instead, was treated to smiles and great service - maybe perhaps because I didn't bark my drink order like some other AAmericans who were there.
Food was delicious - nice Thai beef salad, hot and savoury soup and bread and butter pudding - washed down with some rose fizz (okay not labelled but still drinkable). Celia and Angela who were working that night were especially friendly and charming. Typical BA though - you can't eat without the little slip of paper, which they don't give you unless you ask - leading to many AAmericans barking imperiously at the serving staff that "dont you know I'm in First etc etc."
Then legged it to Victor 23 (not easy in Manolo's) for the overnight 109 to DXB. Not one of the newer 777's , but did spot the nice new noise canx headphones and the (small) screens were at least razor sharp and all worked in the F cabin. Washrooms need renovating - so small and a bit grotty really.
Cabin crew very friendly, again coping with all sorts (from slender size zero fashion victim shrieking she couldn't possible have large Jim-Jams to a rather larger gentleman who was packed in like a blood sausage in his).

Lots of patrolling at night and nice water refreshes with ice and lemon.
CSD came down to say hello - nice eye contact empathy (but whoops showing wrong movie choice - rebooted halfway through...)
Otherwise the quiet, unobtrusive service as advertised - but breakfast without bacon rolls - ouch. Used to love these between LHR and JFK. Can understand why they don't serve them on a ME route...but what about any other hot option...?
All in all, painless and a lot better than some of the whinge-fests would have you believe ...
