Only had 6 or 8 rooms correct?
I returned just this week - from Uzbekistan, where I went after Azerbaijan - so I apologize for the delay. The Old City Inn has 12 rooms, I think, and the service was quite good. It's a training hotel for a university hospitality-and-tourism department, and the staff was very helpful. A few even had very good English. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast quite adequate (Caucasus breakfast, rather than western European). Free use of the internet was also included in the price. Baku itself was quite interesting, and everything there works much better than in Armenia or Georgia. Restaurants were fine, and if you don't want kebabs all the time, local Turkish restaurants offer very good, reasonably priced meals. The subway costs 15 cents, and taxis are also cheap. If you haven't left already, enjoy your trip!
