That's a good price, and is hopefully an indication of more good things to come.
I think there is finally competition forcing providers to reform both pricing and service (or there will be soon). This isn't just happening in the US. After 9 weeks of multiple calls a day to Telefonica trying to get my ADSL line moved to a new house (512Kbps, no static IP, forced proxy on port 80, ~$60/month) I told them to get bent and yesterday signed up with an upstart company (Jazztel) that is rolling out ADSL2+ like a steamroller throughout the country. 20Mbps and a static IP for 32.96€/month! Signup took less than five minutes, they answered all my questions, and I didn't have to go to an obscure bank branch between 8 and 10AM on a Thursday to pay a deposit in cash like I did with Telefonica.
Let's hope we see more and more Comcasts and Jazztels in the industry.
