As with others, also just bought a T-mobile pre-paid card on e-bay ($15 including shipping and tax, with 150 minutes, expiring 11/27/05). When I power up, it comes up on the Cingular network, which has 5-bar strength in my house, so I'm happy.
And ditto on the T-mobile agents. Just switched the initial phone number to a local area code, and it all worked as promised.
