safety case

Firstly, the NC headsets may not carry FAA approval for use in that phase of flight.

Secondly, the original sets of NC headsets that were tried out on the flight deck used to screen out all the nice warning sounds like GPWS

Thirdly, the evacuation commands may be delivered by voice, megaphone, intercom and the NC headsets have not been evaluated to determine what effect that they may have on evacuation times in this situation.

Fourthly, god help you if you are sitting on an FAA certified aircraft with the type 3 removable over/under wing exits and not in a 737 NG as the stupid US carriers and the FAA still show you pulling the plug door in and putting it across the seats where it will fall in the way of your evacuation on many US carriers.

Finally, you are required to be of good hearing and I am not sure that the Feds who make the laws have thought of it.

sorry to be slightly harsh, but if you have smelt as many burnt bodies in aircraft as I have, then you do take cabin evacuation seriously. Not saying that you would be intentionally affecting it in this case, merely that nobody has bothered to find out. And in aviation terms, that means no then.

PS, remember listening to Channel 9 outside the US is illegal on most of the United network.
