Incidentally, for Canadians out there, the RBC Avion VISA card now allows you to convert RBC reward points to BA, AA or AsiaMiles. This means that you can get a free business ticket on BA YYZ-LHR (using AsiaMiles) after just CAD $60,000 spending.
Asia Miles and BA Miles are not comparable they are like apples and oranges. It is harder to accrue Asia Miles and as a result they tend to be more valuable. One of their best features is the ability to redeem them for upgrades across most OneWorld carriers and use the miles seemlessly across other carriers too (I know you can make reservation on other OW airlines with BA Miles but then you risk losing the miles entirely if you need to change the booking).
