Yeah, good luck. I've told the story before here, and it is the straw that broke the camel's back, and why my dad and I have left Delta. On a B fare transcon, after boarding was completed the upgrade was cleared, but the GA didn't tell my father, and put an employee in the seat. DL offered 10k SkyMiles as compensation. Now if you could use those miles to upgrade a T fare at booking, it'd be fair, but you can't. Oh well, DL might be better off without us, not exactly sure they ever made money on us, considering all the miles we cashed in.

well I got a standard BS email back from Delta that didn't even address my complaint. i was not complaining about miles credit, i was complaining about not being upgraded and enjoying the benefits immediately upon achieving the level of Silver.
here is the reply i got.
Congratulation and welcome to the Silver Medallion level! Your account
will be updated on Saturday. SkyMiles accounts that qualify for Elite
status are processed the weekend following the update of the Medallion
Qualification Miles balance. Members who qualify for the next Medallion
level and earn credit for travel before the accounts are updated will
receive retroactive Medallion bonus miles for all eligible flights. The
accounts are automatically updated the month following qualification.
Please allow 4-5 weeks from the time your account is updated to receive
your Silver Medallion credentials.
