I just arrived into ICN yesterday. The airport is a big improvement over Kimpo.

I arrived on AC 899 from Vancouver. Our arrival gate was one of the last gates, and right next to the UA flight from San Francisco.

There is about a one mile walk from the arrival gate to customs, but the customs seems to be more efficent compared to Kimpo. The arrival cards are now scanned into the computers and passports stamped with new "Icheon Airport" stamps. It took me less than 5 minutes to clear customs for "Non-Korean", but the lines for Korean citizens was quite long. The white customs cards are no longer required if you have nothing to declare.

The new airport seems much brigther and looks nice with the marble and carpeting in other areas. The signs leading to baggage, connecting flight, etc. were easy to understand and translated in English, Korean and Chinese. There were elevators to get to the different levels of the airport and the intersting thing about the elevators was that they were "see through", so you could actaully see the elevators work.

The tolls on the new highway connection to Incheon International Airport was a little pricey. We paid W6,100.

I was impressed with the new airport.
