The Sheraton Suites Galleria is definitely the closest to Vinings. It is an all-suites property and virtually every room is the same. Unless things have changed lately, there's practically no difference between regular floors and the Club level. There is not a club lounge. Parking is free. Rooms N10 and N11 on each floor are jacuzzi suites, though I don't think that they're the best jacuzzis. Rooms on lower floors on the front side can be noisy from the street traffic. I think Plats get coupons for the breakfast buffet.
I've stayed at this property for about 70 nights when I was working down there in 2003 and 2004. I had negotiated a $69 rate that included breakfast. When this property was sold out, I'd try out other area Starwood properties.
Westin Buckhead (my favorite in Atlanta. Great lounge throughout the day. Expensive parking around $25. Got a great corner suite.)
Sheraton Buckhead (not very impressed with this property.)
Westin Peachtree (I think that this one is overrated. I don't think the rooms are well cared for. Expensive parking. Great view at the revolving restaurant at the top, though!)
Sheraton Atlanta (This is a franchise property. I often find it to have rates at a good value. I generally have liked this property, but it depends on the room. Once got a corner suite with a huge big screen TV.)
Westin Atlanta Airport (I have had good experience here. I sometimes stay here before a trip for their Park & Fly rate.)
Sheraton Atlanta Airport (I stayed here on Sunday when my flight was cancelled and found out that it's club level rooms were undergoing renovations (new carpet or cleaning carpets, I think). Better than it used to be.)
Westin Atlanta North (This is the next closest to Vinings, I think. They have a great fitness center next door. Plats get free access. Nice rooms. Free parking, I think.)
W Atlanta (We got a great suite upgrade, but I didn't think that this property lived up to the W reputation. I hear that the restaurant in the lobby is excellent. Had some housekeeping and accounting problems here.)
