I agree that individual pricing is a completely different story, however I am pretty sure that several stupid comments by Gordo over the last years have shifted Continental in an unlucky position.

I don`t read about any cheap shots against the competition from other airlines`upper management, so I wonder why Gordo has to take on the competition again and again, not only the domestic competition, but also the international competition.
If Gordo feels that the A 380 is not an airplane designed for his ( obviously too small ) airline it is ok, but I don`t see any reason to critisize various high quality airlines worldwide and Airbus for building and buying the A 380...

I am quite sure that CO is suffering from that image.

Locally CO was a respected airline in the Dusseldorf market for quite some years, they had the courage to attact LH on their second largest base at that time and a lot of people still like Co for that and still travel to FRA, I should add , to fly CO.

Ok, they lost some serious $$$ in the beginning, cause they overestimated the quality of their BF cabin, but later on they created quite some competition on the DUS-NYC routes.

I will never forget the moment when I walked along the C concourse at DUS ready to board my KLM flight, when of all of a sudden a CO 757 come around the corner.Everybody laughed at CO, but at least they had the courage trying the keep the route alive...

OK, LH was smarter and survived with the BBJ on that route, but at least here at DUS CO still has the image of a quality carrier and to be runner up to LH is not a shame. If they could only get rid of their CEO...
