This is a splendid post!

Those of us who are loyal to AA should perhaps pause a moment to express gratitude to the employees of an airline which has faced the challenges of other legacy carriers but who have realistically and cooperatively worked with management to prevent AA from going the sad ways of US, UA, DL, NW and others I am forgetting at the moment.

This is a tremendously difficult time for the industry -- and esp. for legacy carriers. Without enlightened employees -- and enlightened labor union leaders -- AA might have been forced onto a far different flight path than that which it is currently flying.
