Sure. That said BA may argue that they can charge you a reissue fee (or at least their handling fee) for this. My argument woud be that this is no different than when you accept a booking in D waiting for A inventory to open up. I've not had to reissue under those circumstances but BA likes to charge their handling and reissue fees.
