You must be joking, right? Ever tried MH, CX, TG, VN, SQ, CI, BR, KE? All *much* better than AF. My experiences with AF in both economy and business long haul are similar to the OP's. Very mediocre, surly, unfriendly service, seat comfort below average, only thing I quite liked was the food. And of course, to have to transfer at CDG is sufficient reason to avoid AF at all costs.
