Flights to/from Bombay delayed by runway mishap

MUMBAI: Inbound and outbound flights of most airlines at the airport were delayed on Monday as the main runway continued to remain unserviceable in view of the mishap involving an Air Sahara plane, airport sources said.

The flights of all the airlines were delayed considerably since morning as the aircraft had to use the secondary runway in the absence of the main runway which was rendered unserviceable, the sources said.

Air Sahara's Kolkata-Mumbai Boeing 737 last evening missed touchdown by several metres while landing and overshot the main runway which was closed immediately thereafter...

..The aircraft is still on the soft land and continues to block the main runway, the sources said adding, instrument landing system has also become unserviceable
