I'm booked into the Westin Miyako in Kyoto from Oct 15 to 22 and would like to stay until the 24th but they are sold out on the 22nd due to two major festivals. Any tips on how to secure a room for the night of the 22nd? I called the Gold reservation line and they 'put in a request' to extend my reservation. The reservation agent gave me the runaround when I asked her if the request was sent to the hotel or what happens next. All she said was..."wait for a call from us."

Price is not an issue, I just want to stay put and enjoy Kyoto rather than switch to the Westin Osaka.

Any advice?
