You'll definitely hear more gripes than positive experiences. I've been quite pleased with United overall. Sure I've had these "one-time" exceptions when the agent obviously screwed up and other bad experiences but I've had more positive experiences in the end.
I would leave the 500's with United as other people have said. Bad CS though.
