Ive used Priceline much in the past, though not recently. While not all my stays were at the Hilton, I did not find I was mistreated on the whole. There is an odd remark here and there, but overall not a problem.

Keep in mind that if this many hotel rooms were not filled, there would be huge problems for the hotel in general. This is a great way for the hotel to benefit from low booking periods. Though your rate may be low, this is how they can consistently offer full-time positions to staff and keeping in-house venues open during these low-traffic periods.

Hotels participate in the Priceline program by selling off thier rooms at these types of rates. While their profit margins may not be as wide, they still profit.

Make sure if you do get flack that you follow up on it. Perhaps putting a snarky hotel manager on a 3-way call to his superior would be apt. The hotels make out on these deals as much as the customer does. And let them know that........
