First time post, and what a hot topic to start! Have Silver with DL until 2/04, however haven't flown them even once this year due to their Elite status policy changes. I have flown Continental a few times this year(when UA was not an option) soley on the basis of the DL Elite benefits, mainly pre-boarding and quicker checkin. Well I'm glad CO announced these changes early as I will not strive for Elite status on CO or DL any longer. I flew CO last week on a last minute flight, booked day of departure, yet it was in T class, the rock-bottom fare! Who in their right mind would ask for, much less pay a full fare? First USAIR tried this policy change (which lasted about a week last year), then Delta, and now CO is looking to drive away its elite members. If and when all other carriers copy this, there will be no loyalty left, and Jet Blue will rule! Why not, without loyalty at least have a comfortable seat and TV!
