I spoke to Mileage Plus here in Sydney and the rumour is that they will once again be offering a sign up and pay $100 USD promtion as they did in Nov/Dec 2004.

The promo provided double elite qualifying miles on flights taken in Nov/Dec but not double redeemable miles (other than the standard double miles for 1K's and prem ex) during the period of offer.

Would be keen to hear if anyone else has heard any rumours or solid information about whether this or any similar promotions are coming out soon to help in 2006 requalification.
