This summarizes why many frequest flyers are frustrated - the attitude of entitlement.

Do you deserve free upgrades, elite check-in lines or bonus miles? Nope. You only deserve what you paid for - which is prompt and reliable transportation from Point A to Point B.

I would predict DL and CO's FF 'enhancements' are on the front end of an industry trend. I would not be surprised to see the other major carriers follow their lead in the future.

Edited for poor grammer.

While "deserve" may not have been the best word, I would have used the world "earned". As frequent fliers, regardless of the fare class paid, we have spent hours and nights away from our homes due to operational delays, maintenance cancellations, etc. We have been promised to be treated well in return for loyalty, and then our loyalty is not reciprocated. LUV, JBLU and ATA have forever changed the fare structures. People are not going to pay the high fares. They are trying to squeeze blood from a stone, and in the process will lose a great deal of customers.
