you've already got my recommendation - L'Alba D'oro. Used to be just across the road from my student flat, and many a time we would pop across for a bag of chips and/or some ice cream. It was still there 6 months ago...

In the three years I was at uni there, they never sold the bottle of alcohol (I can't remember if it was port or champagne or brandy) they had on sale at £200

Deep fried scotch pie or macaroni pie takes a lot of beating But now I know what scotch pies are made from, I usually go haggis pudding supper

(I know, there is a logical fallacy in that position, but I'm ignoring it!)
