And do not forget the three 747's that had strut pins snap resulting in the engine (or in one case, one engine falling off only to fly in front of the aircraft, sweep around and hit an engine on the port side) falling or flying off the aircraft, resulting in the loss of two of those aircraft.


Design flaws happen in almost everything, if not all products, especially ones as complicated as aircraft.
