Problem with row 22 is that the film screen is either too near or too far away! Unfortunately the toilets are very near, so for a red eye I would consider for a few rows further back to avoid the infernal flushing and banging of the toilet door.
On our last flight last week, we politely asked for exit rows 21 or 20. The agent was quite abrupt (unusual for Delta staff). He said that we would have to join the queue of other people who had also requested exit seats.
When we boarded that plane, we were in row 22 and row 21 was vacant, so we asked if everyone was boarded if we could move. Guess what - he went to the guy in the row behind us and offered him row 22! Must add that this guy was HUGE! But we were dissapointed.
Hope you have better luck that we did!
