I think you have the East coast of FLA mixed up with the Gulf side? FLL is hopping - tons of university aged people. I've been to both sides and it's amazing how different landing at RSW is from FLL. Each side has their appeal.
Oct to mid December is prime for trips to south FLA. Here's the guaranteed weather forecast for your week :
Partly cloudy, high 90'F, humidity of 85%, probable (short)afternoon t-storm.
Golf is great ... shoot for AM tee-times when possible.
