I was going to pipe up on that one. SkyTeam has a LARGE hole in the LAX-LAS market. A few years ago, DL used to serve it nonstop, but no more. I all but refuse to use T1 at LAX, so my choices to LAS are either UA or AA nonstop, or DL via SLC. Actually, NW does fly 1 flight per day each way, but I can't stand the departure time ex-LAX.
