thanks for the reply... heh. I think he paid the bar fee for the most scary reason ever:
"we had a few beers and it seemed like a good idea at the time!" :-) god knows the boys are very persuasive, and 200 baht (US$5) made sense at the time, to keep the good times going.
(this all feels so "sailor on leave," doesn't it? heheh)
seriously, my friend thinks NTF is nice (& cute, and clearly my friend seemed to have fun spending the night with NTF), but I don't think he's looking for anything beyond the night they spent together. (and regardless, we're leavin' Phuket this afternoon, soooo....) he isn't opposed to paying the fee, but I think it's all new for us and, well, clearly we do not understand how things work. :-)
