So, I assume from this statement that a Gold or Platnum companion upgrade is actually the lowest on the pecking order?

...

i.e. since companion upgrades are always done two hours out -- it's already most likely too late?

I was always under the impression that the Plat companion came before a Gold. Not so?

In my experience, the lineup for gate upgrades is Plat, Plat Companion, Gold, Gold Companion, Silver. Have been silver myself earlier in the year and traveled with a Plat companion, I was upgraded at the gate ahead of any of the Golds. But this only applies for gate upgrades, not any of the "EUA" runs.

In theory, that would be true, but as many have complained, sometimes it feels as though CO plays EUA games, removing the F inventory prior to the EUA and then putting it back after it runs. As a Gold and Silver, on competitive routes like EWR-SFO, EWR-LAX, EWR-IAH, and others, I've received far more upgrades at the gate than via the EUA.

Don't we all?
