I did not mean to suggest that the barfine was sufficient. The bar gets that, not the person in question. Just that often times money is not discussed. Many Thai's are sometimes to polite to broach the topic so directly and would rather leave it unsaid or consider it immoral to directly ask for money. Still money is usually expected or at least hoped for. I imaging it creates a scenario where they can get money for sex without actually considering themselves a sex worker. Nor is that to say someone working in a bar would not willingly go with someone they like knowing they aren't getting paid. But still the correct thing to do would be to discreetly slip them some money in the morning. Tuck it in their pocket or something. If you paid a barfine for them to be with you the terms are pretty clear.
