CO PC Lifetime memberships are still reasonably priced if you are a Plat. Previously they were not priced per Elite level.

UA and AA have eliminated lifetime club memberships. I think it is still worth considering if you plan lots of travel in the future - be it business or you travel frequently on personal trips - particularly if you are fairly young today.

You never know where the airlines are headed, but there will likely be two (at most three) legacy carriers down the road. It is likely that CO will be part of one of the two survivers, and that the CO PC membership will somehow be preserved - if not merged into a different surviving carrier's lounge program. At that time, lifetimes could be permanently eliminated and yearly fees could go up to make it more exclusive. Of course other options with Amex Plat access, and DL giving free access to Plat Elite are risks. Plus Plat Elite is now Skyteam Elite Plus for access for international flights. But if you are already spending several $Ks a year on travel and travel much for personal travel then a lifetime may be for you. If all your travel is business and it is subject to change - then likely not. But for myself (and many others on this board) with about 20 vacation trips a year (for past 20 years) and business trips changing from 2 to 15 per year, the lifetime is well worth the $3K for a Plat.

I do not see lounges going away, as the legacy carriers fly international and need to have lounges, if not for business class passengers.
