Cargo bay a little light
I try not to fly UL because of the usual delays associated with the airline, but one would think this problem has been encountered more than one time. So I am ORD going to DSM on a CRJ and everyone is on-board. We wait at the gate for at least 40 mins when the captain comes on and indicates that the aircraft is a little light in the cargo bay and they are going to try and put some additional cargo in.
Wait another 30 mins (btw, the flight time to DSM is 70 mins) and the captain come on again saying they couldn't find any additional cargo and customer service would be coming on board to take 3-4 paxs off the plane to make us lighter. As it happens, there were that many volunteers earlier to take the later flight.
So, wouldn't you think that UL would have equalivent of test dummy baggage to resolve these types of issues?
