All kidding aside; I once hired a 36' sailboat out of Marina Del Rey in a 30 knot wind and headed up to Malibu for a quick bite/drinks & returned. Still made my flight. Have to be honest, if I missed the flight, it wouldn't have been a big deal - plenty to do in LA.

I will put on the heat resistant Nomex and say that I prefer LA over NYC. No bashing NYC, I just like SoCal for all of my favorite things......
