In FLL you are allowed to be present when your bags are checked. If they don't need to be opened your name is called to let you know you can proceed to your flight. If they do need to be opened they will let you be present.

In SAV, the DL check in woman pasted my combination lock number onto my bag and the TSA removed it after the bag was checked.
