The Brazil Visa prevented me from doing a milage run to SAO last month. The problem is, you need a confirmed ticket to accompany the application, which then takes 24 hours to issue. You could buy a UA int. discount ticket on Tuesday, mail in the application to a visa service, and potentially get everything on board in time to leave the following week. But unless you live in NYC or DC, the private visa services are expensive.
What a drag, I really wanted to go and wound up in Uruguay instead... fun nontheless.
Can you get a Brazilian Visa with no specific itinerary in mind so as to be able to leave on short notice?
