This used to really burn me with AA flying SEA-DFW-MIA-EZE. The flight was technically DFW-EZE even though you got off the plane in MIA, walked a million miles, waited 2 hours, and boarded another plane for EZE. Because of this I could never get a domestic upgrade for the DFW-MIA leg.
