Thumbs up Improved Recently?

Stayed at the Hilton Seattle Downtown recently and was pleasantly surprised. It was not the nightmare that I had read about. Fantastic central location. Too bad the bus tunnel is now closed for the next two years since it made traveling so convenient in the free zone. All the additional busses now travel on the street.

Although they could use a new armoire, the room was clean. There was a new carpet smell to the place as you stepped off the elevator into the bright hallway. May have just been spruced up (no prior stay to compare).

Best part was the very fluffy, down filled thickly padded mattress and equally puffy down comforter and pillows. Glad to see the crisp white sheets as I recall hearing something about how the linens had seen better days. Another thing I liked was being able to open the windows for fresh natural air conditioning.

My only nitpick is the elevator has to stop at the lobby no matter what when you are coming up from the street. I probably shouldn't fault them for that since they get to take a peek for security sake.

To all the naysayers, take a second look at this place. ^
