Does anyone have any tricks of the trade to get an upgrade on flights from MIA to MVD. I have a connection in EZE each way and I am really only worried about the 8.5 hour flight from MIA-EZE. I have no status on AA and have only flown about 3K miles this year which is actually really low for me, last year I think I flew 20K and it was all domestic travel. I do not travel for business usually but this is my first business trip. I don't want to blow 25K miles plus $250 each way for a business class seat, I think this is kind of ridiculous. You won't have any luck getting a complimentary upgrade. I think you have zero percent chance.
But, keep an eye on the seat map and if the flight is pretty wide open move yourself to a row of 4 on the 777 and hope for the best. The further back you are on the plane the emptier it will be.
