Well....there are some meanings to these things. I'm not sure about B6 but I learned from reading on FT that the reason America West is/was HP was because they used to be (or have some affiliation) with Hawaiian Pacific (or that's what they used to be called...I can't really remember).
Anyway, this was NOT a stupid question as I'm sure the answer if there is one (as to the meaning of B6) would be somewhat interesting to us FT people...I'm sure the rest of the country is yawning while we inquire!

I don't think the B6 code "means" anything, like PA meant Pan American. Just like some radio station call signs "mean" something (WIND, Chicago) but most are just random groups of letters.
