Dunno. I think the 'official policy' is whatever the Purser decides it is on a given flight. I've observed no consistency in this practice. Funny thing about their obsession with collecting all the NC headsets from the C & F cabins - who would steal one? With that funky plug, they only work on UA widebody aircraft.

Anyway, this is why I always have my own headphones with me.
