Pretty standard security questions ...

I can only speak from LHR/LGW experience .. these are very standard security questions. When you check in at the ticket counter, there is pre-screening of security with these exact same questions. Nothing to be worried about.

Secondly, you issue with e-ticket and itinerary again is very standard at least in London ... I ALWAYS request an intinerary/receipt when traveling on an e-ticket in Europe. They seem to want to SEE the details before they go any farther to check you in, etc. In fact, when I have not had them (right post 9/11) I have had to wait in line (at the security desk) while someone goes to another desk and gets a copy... now they seem to have copies at the Business/First checkin security lines . . for people who did not have them.

I agree with the other poster . .the kiosk may be relatively new and somehow you were able to bypass the security questions (and get the applicable stamp). Since you had no checkin luggage that makes sense.
