Using kiosk at CDG leads to problem boarding

I used the self sevice Kiosk at CDG to obtain boarding passes for my wife and myself for return flight to Mia as seen on the aa.com site.
Went through security no problem.
We were in J class.
When we tried to board gate agent asks for my electronic receipt.
I do not have it.
Asks for my itinerary--I say it is return flight--all I have is the boarding pass.
she says she cannot let us board.
I ask why--she says --how did I get here--did I pass through security?
Now she calls another agent and we get pulled aside.
The passengers continue boarding and the new agent starts asking me questions--did I check Luggage?
No.
Did I go through security?
Of course--how do you think I got here?
Did I use these boarding passes to go through security?
Of course--they are the same type that I receive in the uSA from the kiosks and no agent ever questions them.
They start asking me questions I have not heard in years--did I pack my own luggage--when, any gifts etc etc.
I guess what I am getting at is if you use the kiosk to avoid line--go to Admirals club and get the boarding pass that they issue at the ticket counter--it will save you aggravation from using the system that they have not told their agents about.
