In fact, just for grins, let's do the math in one typical situation for a three-day trip.

NW out of MKE: $278
UA/AA out of ORD: $238

Additional costs associated with ORD:

Parking - $9
Tolls - $2.40
Fuel - $4
Travel time (25 extra minutes each way on the road plus 20 minutes to find parking and get to terminal one at ORD): 1.5 hrs x $48/hr = $72
Food cost difference: $2
Total: $90.40

So, which is cheaper?
