ANY Flyertalker who has as high of status as many do and claim that "they always take the absolute lowest fare" is flat out lying, and I'm not afraid to tell ya that.

This applies to hotels as well folks, those who attempt to draw some magical line between Airfare and hotels are just fooling themselves. See, you may have saved $100 on airfare by choosing a lower far, but you negated that when you choose the $150 a night Hilton over say...Windham Inn or small chain.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying employees who travel 100% shouldn't get perks - not saying that at all. All I'm saying is just stop lying to yourself.
