Hard to find sympathy for the poor deprived Eurpoean carrier employees...as for DL employees.. I don't begrudge them space available flying.
A few questions here:

-Which European country has a six week vacation when you are hired?
-The number of statutory holidays in most EU countries if 14 per year- the US has 10 do they not?
-Umm...downsizing in Europe has reached very high levels- just ask the 14 000 people at GM/Opel that have lost their jobs here in the last 3 years if you would like clarification.
Oh, and a starting salary for a flight attendant with allowance for living in London on BMI is 11 000 GBP per year- try and figure out how to live on that in London.
In Italy, the LCC's pay under a 1000EURO per month for flight attendants, while rent in Milano for a one bedroom apartment is typically tied with Manhattan (Milan is ranked as the 9th most expensive city in the world to live in).
