Can't help you with the Akademie, I was working for a headhunting company when I lived in Vienna, but I can tell you that the city is lovely to live in and the Austrians absolutely charming in their own old-fashioned way. Mind you, you'll freeze your a**s off in the winter, but that has a charm of its own and they provide lots of hot punsch to help deal with that
