As much as I'd rather pat down a male, its not gonna happen. The only time it would, is if there is not one other person of the same sex screening in the airport at that time. And then there has to be a supervisor standing right there to be a witness. Can't make everybody happy I guess.
This reminds of a trip I made right after 9/11. I was flying NAS-MIA-MSP-AMS. At Miami an extremely cute TSA lady decided to wand me down completely. She checked everything. When the wand beeped at my belt I had to take off the belt completely, unbutton the top button of my jeans and show the inside of them. When I asked her 'does this mean we're dating now?' she just started laughing and waved me through. I should have asked her number
