I second Geronimo, but if you can't get in go to The Compound, just before it on Canyon Rd. Every bit as stellar and not as hectic inside.

We like SantaCafe and have not noticed the previous comment. Dinner for Two is a local spot that's not usually mentioned by tourists, and is fine dining, run by a family. Quaint and dark and good. Los Mayos around the corner is fabulous Latin American, but only a beer & wine license.

Finally, Guadalupe Cafe on Old Santa Fe Trail is awesome, awesome, awesome. Great sopaipillas, fresh red and green chile and killer New Mexican dishes in an adobe-like setting with a lovely patio. It blows away Pasquales in my book.
