I've seen it come up before, but this is the first time I've seen a record from Guinness actually noted. It's interesting just to see that they did certify such a record in the past. I can't believe it's 25 years old. I always wondered if having a Concorde segment in the mix would help the time. Doesn't look like that was in the itinerary.

If you look at the record, you can see the standard for circumnavigation. Has to cross all lines of longitude *and* be a distance exceeding the length of the Tropic of Cancer. The longitude part is easy, but it might be trickier to get the distance requirement and keep it under 44 hours. (I'm not a big expert on the available flights and their distances.)
